I bought the Pro Am (made in 1987). Suhr Anderson PRS Melancon G and L Gibson Fender Ibanez Other. The first 2 Tom Anderson guitars brought to Australia were a Pro Am and a Grand Am (by Nunzio Gambale, Pro Audio in Canberra). My only suhr humbuckers experience was with the suhr Aldrich set in my les Paul, which I really like.I currently have a Bolt+ I purchased ten years ago, and until recently I had a Suhr Standard Pro that I lost due to an electrical fire in a rented rehearsal space. The neck carve or the shape and size of the back of the guitar neck will change. I have another guitar with an h1n- and an h2+. I first went with an h3 for my strat and found it too hot for my liking and then went with a h2+, which I love. I would go with the Anderson h3, I think it is just want you want.

Suhr Modern Antique Guitar Review: This is the best guitar. Gibson Les Paul with some new pickups a delightful Tom Anderson H1 and H2 set. Both are (were in the case of the Suhr) excellent guitars, and I would have no qualms about purchasing another Carvin or another Suhr. What fed our family that first year was that (A Versatile Guitar for Worship) Harmony Guitars USA. Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s AAA Top Electric Guitar - Heritage Cherry. Also both of these guitars had Ultrasonic (Reference Series) pickups (made in the Bosch factory in Germany I believe.

I never needed to contact the company, but John Suhr is active on a few forums and seems to be a stand-up guy.The best course of action may be to buy and enjoy one of each. Suhr in particular appears to have great customer service. Again, not a knock against the Suhr, and if the Carvin had been lost in the fire I would have made the same decision to purchase the LP and the Schecter. So, none of this helps you, but you can't go wrong with either guitar if it matches your tone/feel expectations. Both companies seem responsive to customers.
